I’m a GD USA In-house Design Award Winner!

Months back, my Creative Director at SearsStyle, Mark Pelletier asked me to compile all the searsStyle issues from 2012 and early 2013. I gave him jpegs and he picked out 4 or 5 of the ones he thought were strongest and entered them into the GDUSA American In-house Design Awards along with some other sears UX work. I soon forgot about it and figured we didn’t win since I hadn’t heard anything.

Yesterday, during one of our company standup meetings, Mark announced that sears had won 3 awards. 1 for Kenmore’s website, 1 for the searsStyle Everlast Brandshop page designed by fellow freelance designer Jake Nuesser, and the last win was for the searsStyle team for the searsStyle issues we had submitted. Mark presented all of us framed certificates from Graphic Design USA. This is the first time I’ve ever contributed to an award so it was really a nice surprise, especially since one of my issues was submitted!

Below are the issues that won:

New York Fashion week: September 2012
Designed By Imelda Sondak

“Love is in the Air”: Februrary 2013
Designed by Elena Searcy

“Minty Fresh”: March 2013
Designed by ME

Congratulations again to searsStyle for the recognition. I’m excited to see what new amazing things this team can cook up.
